grief

It feels like your heart is ripped apart.

We all experience grief and yet it is often not talked about or acknowledged except in the days immediately after a death. If you are reading this it is likely you have experienced the death of an animal you deeply love. This page contains some websites and videos and inspirational quotes that I have found helpful when navigating my own grief journey.

I hope some of them will bring you some comfort and so you know that you are not alone.

the truth

"Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness.
It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love.
The only cure for grief is to grieve."
~Earl Grollman

"We are created to attach to people [and animals] and things we love."
~Cathy Conway

"There is no set pattern, not for everyone and not even within each person. Each grief is unique, as each love is unique. There are no stages capable of containing all the experiences of love and pain. There are no stages of grief."

~Megan Devine

"Grief is the natural response
when someone you love is torn from your life."

~Megan Devine
